1955 Cadillac Fleetwood for Sale – Ordered New by William A. Fisher, Pres. Fisher Body
1955 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Series for Sale
A True Fisher “Special Order” Cadillac
Sorry but this classic Cadillac has been SOLD! by CPR. Do not regret passing on this rare opportunity to purchase a piece of American automotive history. On its own merit, this 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty-Special is worthy of attention. However, what earns this luxurious sedan historical status is that it was delivered new, and as a special-order vehicle, to William A. Fisher, President of the Fisher Body company and a member of the Automotive Hall of Fame.
History of Prominent Ownership:
The Fisher family could’ve been considered the Rockefellers of the automotive world, churning out the bodies of millions of vehicles, most prominently, those of General Motors. The pedigree and ownership documentation is extensive and available to potential buyers, included is the original Owner Service Policy made out to Fisher at his well-known home address. Fisher eventually transferred title of the classic to his friend George B. Judson, then President of the Detroit Wabeek Bank & Trust Company (later evolved into Comerica). It was Judson who preserved many of the maintenance records available for your perusal.
Third ownership of this 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty-Special was as part of the Todd & Peggy Nagler collection. After obtaining the car in 1974, the Naglers kept pages of handwritten notes (also included in this listing) detailing mileage, performance, and maintenance performed adding to the extensive maintenance documentation of this special vehicle. The fourth and current owner is the national insurance sales leader for Hagerty insurance who’s owned this car since 2020.
The Vehicle:
The originality of this classic Cadillac is as interesting an aspect as the ownership history and documentation. The “Special-Order” aspect of this vehicle is the “super horsepower engine” as indicated on the build sheet. Pop the hood and you’ll have the “Batwing” air cleaner over dual quad carbs staring you right in the face. This was a standard feature available on Eldorado models of that year and gives the girl a lot of get-up-and-go. Options include Power Brakes, Heater & Vertical Seat Adjuster. With just 68,816 well-maintained miles on the clock, she has plenty of life in her. The paint code is 10-12 (Black w. Alabaster Grey roof) and trim code 87 (Light Green w Dark Green Plain Broadcloth). Body# is 9327. Copy of build sheet included.
This is an honest, original car that runs and drives nicely and includes what we believe to be the car’s original 1955 Michigan license plate. You’ll see the original paint thinning in areas along with some minor bruises and scrapes incurred over the decades. Our listing has 210+ photos, videos and copies of original documentation, videos include an eight-minute ride along, the engine bay with motor running, and a full walkaround of the car. All mentioned documentation will be included with purchase. If that isn’t enough, this 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty-Special for sale is available personal inspection.
This vehicle is offered for sale exclusively through Cadillac Parts & Restoration (CPR), a prominent restoration and parts provider serving the classic Cadillac community since 1984.
